Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and AI search
Ask an AI about your brand. See what it says.
What actually moves
Buyers research before they ever reach your site, and increasingly they do it by asking a model. It answers from whatever it can find. If your own site never states plainly what you do, who it is for and how it works, the model fills the gap from somewhere else: a directory, a competitor comparison, or an old page you forgot about.
The fix is unglamorous. Make sure the correct version exists, in a form an agent can actually read, on a site an agent is allowed to fetch.
I cannot promise what a model will say. Nobody can, and anyone who does is selling you something. What I can do is make sure your version is there to be drawn on, that the crawlers reach it, and that we measure what shows up.
- Brand narrative
- Structured content stating plainly what you do, who for, and how, so the model has your version rather than a guess.
- Crawler access
- GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot and the rest reach your pages, and the content sits in the HTML rather than being built by JavaScript.
- Citable structure
- Answer-first blocks, entity and FAQ structure, schema, and information a model cannot get anywhere else.
- Measured separately
- AI visibility is reported apart from rankings. The two have decoupled, and one no longer stands in for the other.
This site has a machine view.
A plain-text mirror of everything here, written for agents and crawlers. It is the same idea I would specify for a client, running on my own site first so you can check that it works.
Not sure where you stand?
Send a URL. I will check crawler access, structure and what the models currently say, by hand.
